Description

CHA’s survey of all accessible portions of the Armory Annex and Vehicle Storage Building were completed per Chapter 9.8 – “Hazardous Materials Guide of the NYSOGS Design Procedures Manual”. This includes the visual identification and sampling of suspect asbestos-containing materials, lead based paints, PCB containing caulks/sealants, and a visual inspection for Mercury containing items, PCB-containing items (transformers/ballasts), Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), Bird Droppings and Mold. During the asbestos inspection, bulk samples of identified suspect asbestos-containing materials were collected based on the protocols referenced in 40 CFR Part 763.86 Subpart E (AHERA). All bulk samples collected by CHA were analyzed at AmeriSci New York, a laboratory accredited by the NYSDOH Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP).
