Collier County Jail (J1) Kitchen Replacement and Safety Upgrades

The project consists of general kitchen renovations and replacement of all kitchen equipment and walk in refrigeration compartments. Walk-in condensing units will be located on the 2nd floor roof in the same location as existing. Steam lines are being removed from the kitchen and boiler. Two existing kitchen hoods will be removed, and a new stainless-steel kitchen hood will be installed over the east cooking line. The new hood will be equipped with a roof top conditions make up air unit and duct work will utilize the existing chase to the roof. Existing roof top equipment will be demolished and new equipment will be installed. Some built up roof patching will be required. Some existing concrete slabs on grade will be demolished for replacement of sanitary grease lines and installation of new sanitary sewer. Floor finishes will be replaced throughout the kitchen area requiring demolition of existing quarry tile floors where slabs remain. A new employee dining room will be constructed adjacent to the kitchen and two levels of security ceilings will be installed throughout. When the renovated kitchen is proven operational and a CO is obtained this contractor shall demolish the remaining temporary kitchen infrastructure and utilities returning the east exterior area to its original condition
