Description

Total reconstruct of existing 32 foot wide street from 2nd Street to 11th Street. The project includes grading, concrete curb and gutter, asphalt pavement, storm sewer, street lighting, sanitary sewer, water mains and hydrants, sewer and water service lines, and sidewalk on the north side of the street. The new street is proposed to be 40 foot wide with two 12 foot driving lanes and 8 foot parking lanes on each side of the street. Sidewalk is proposed to be installed on the north side of the street. Utilities will include PVC sanitary sewer mains ranging in size from 8" to 12" with pvc service lines installed to the right of way. The existing sanitary manholes will be replaced with new. Water mains will include c-900 PVC water main ranging in size from 6" to 10". New hydrants will be installed along with copper service lines extended to the right of way. We will need to review homes in this area for lead service lines prior to project. If so there is a program through the SRF program to get loan forgiveness on lead line replacement all the way to the house. We have been informed by the NDDOT that SRF funds cannot be used on Federal Aid Projects. If there are lead service lines we will have to do a project at a later date to replace all the way to the house. Project also includes a Trunk Storm Sewer Main that will be installed from 2nd Street North to 11th Street North. This trunk storm sewer will tie into a trunk storm sewer main that will be installed as part of the Eastside Sanitary Sewer Phase B Part 2 Project. Project is included in the City of Wahpeton's FY 2023-2027 CIP. As of January 25, 2023, information regarding a design team and a general contractor is not available. Construction is anticipated in 2023.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
