NCSU - HVAC Renovation Matsumoto Wing - Brooks Hall

The project shall provide improved indoor air quality through ventilation and humidity control. The scope of work shall include demolition of existing fan coil units (FCUs) and piping and the installation of new FCUs (four pipe) for both heating and cooling and a dedicated outside air supply unit to precondition the ventilation air. This project is designed and specified to add a rooftop dedicated outdoor air handler (DOAH) on the roof of Brooks Hall Matsumoto Wing located at NC State University’s main campus. The DOAH will provide ventilation air and relief air to the second and third floors of the Matsumoto Wing that currently do not have mechanical means of outdoor air ventilation. Equipment is sized to provide future capacity for first floor ventilation for use in future renovation projects. The DOAH includes a total enthalpy energy recovery wheel in addition to chilled water cooling coil and a steam reheat coil to deliver dehumidified neutral temperature air into the facility.
