| Description | Work Location: The 2021 Tree Planting project will be located on three (3) separate sites known as Looney Creek near the Town of Appalachia, VICCO near the Town of Coeburn in Wise County and Big Ridge near the Town of Clinchco in Dickenson County, Virginia. 2021 Tree Planting project will consist of the planting of tree seedlings to include species of Black Oak, White Oak, E. White Pine, Pin Oak, Southern Red Oak, Sawtooth Oak, Black Locust, White Dogwood, and Common Apple. Seedlings shall be planted at a rate of 550 total trees per acre, on 9 foot offset centers. Sites to be planted are reclaimed abandoned mine lands. Soil conditions will vary from shallow rocky soils to loose uncompacted material. Typical slopes of 2:1 will be encountered. |
