Description

Water main replacement in an existing residential or commercially developed area. Horizontal Directional Drilling for water main or low-pressure sewers. The approximate primary quantities involved in this work are as follows: Driveway, Nonreinf Conc, 6 inch 200 Syd Fire Hydrant Assembly 7 Ea Water Main Connection, 6 inch 4 Ea Water Main Connection, 8 inch 4 Ea Gate Valve and Box, 8 inch 12 Ea Water Main, PVC (C-900 DR 14), 8 inch, Tr Det F 1,836 Ft Water Main, PVC (C-900 DR 14), 8 inch, Tr Det G 89 Ft Water Main, Fusible PVC (C-900 DR 14), 8 inch, Directional Drilled 3,012 Ft Water Serv 31 Ea Water Serv, Transfer 43 Ea This primary work shall be included together with related work as well as restoration. Contractor prequalification for the 2022 calendar year will be accepted for this bid. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder's past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. For this particular project, prequalification packages must be received by the Water & Sewer Division no later than 5 business days prior to the bid opening. Contact Anderson, Eckstein & Westrick to obtain submittal requirements for all prequalification categories. Bids must be submitted on the forms furnished by the Township Clerk or the Township Engineers in a sealed envelope marked: Please contact Scott J. Chabot, PE at (586) 306-2079 for any specific questions regarding the bidding documents. A certified check, bank draft, or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to Clinton Township, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid. BONDS AND INSURANCE The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 100% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds and insurance will be paid by the accepted bidder as an incidental cost to the project. WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of bids. AWARD OF CONTRACT Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the agreement to other than the low proposal, to negotiate the terms and conditions of all and any part of the bids, to waive irregularities and/or formalities, and in general to make award in the manner as determined to be in the Township's best interest and its sole discretion.
