Description | 1.1 Introduction The Johnson County Library (JCL or the JCL) is a public library owned and operated by Johnson County, dedicated to serving the public by providing reading materials and computer access. JCLs mission as a library system and community hub is to collect, share, promote, learn, adapt, and grow. Users are foremost. The JCL operates a main library at Buffalo, Wyoming, and the Kaycee Branch Library at Kaycee, Wyoming. 1.2 Background The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became Federal law on January 26, 1992. The fundamental goal of the ADA is to ensure equal access to civic life by people with disabilities. The Act comprises five titles prohibiting discrimination against disabled persons within the United States. Title II of the ADA required state and local governments to make their programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. It also established physical access requirements for public facilities (buildings and sidewalks, etc.). The Johnson County Library is requesting bids from qualified companies that have experience in making governmental and public facilities ADA compliant including, but not limited to, entryways to facilities, restrooms, and walkways. The JCL is looking to make the following ADA facility improvements: Handicap Restroom Accessibility Combine two restrooms to one ADA compliant Combine the Kaycee Branch Librarys two public restrooms into one fully ADA compliant restrooms, including stall dimensions, width of doors, width of passageway, height of sinks, inclusion of railings inside stalls, etc. Potential solutions for ADA compliance may involve (but are not limited to) the following: removing the wall between the two existing restrooms; removing one existing restroom door and replacing it with wall; changing the sink height to be ADA compliant. These ADA project improvements will support the general public of Kaycee, Wyoming. All of the necessary site work will be delivered by a General Contractor. The selected Vendor will coordinate and work with the JCL director and Johnson County Facilities Director. The site is flat, has good access with a parking lot for use as a staging area immediately adjacent to it. The selected bidder will be responsible for final cleanup of debris and removal of debris from the property. 1.4 Requirements The successful Vendor shall: have successful experience working on public buildings. have successful experience designing ADA compliant restrooms. provide a minimum of three (3) references. provide appropriate proof of insurance as directed by JCL. The proposal shall contain: A detailed plan that will be reviewed by the board of trustees and submitted to the Wyoming Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety for approval. An itemized breakdown of the fees A project schedule, specifying procurement, delivery and installation schedulestart and end dates and duration. Vendor Qualifications and Experience: Provide a minimum of three (3) references, including: (a) name and scope of the project (b) client name and contact information (c) contract amount Qualifications and Experience of Key Personnel: Identify the person(s) that will be principally responsible for working with the MPS and leading this engagement. Provide Insurance Coverage Details These shall be approved by the JCL Director and the Johnson County Facilities Director. Section 2: Notice to Vendors Preference will be given to Johnson County and Wyoming vendors. |
