Description

The project proposes replacing the superstructure with new steel beams and concrete deck, the installation of new reinforced concrete bridge approach slabs, and a minimal grade raise. New full-depth pavement will be constructed approximately 100 feet south and 200 feet north of the bridge. New guardrail will be installed in the northwest, northeast, and southeast corners, tying into existing guardrail. The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan will require a full road closure on CR 300 East with a detour utilizing CR 50 North, CR 400 East, and CR 100 North. The detour length is two miles with a duration of 120 calendar days. Land use surrounding the project area is maintained grassesand trees. Construction of the project will require approximately 0.803 acre of permanent right-of-way (ROW) and approximately 0.124 acre of temporary ROW. Construction costs are expected to be $1,572,000 with both federal and county funds to be utilized for the construction of the project. Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2025. The FHWA and INDOT have agreed that this project is within the guidelines of a Categorical Exclusion (CE) Level 2 environmental document with no significant impacts to wetlands.
