Description | Description of Work: The work to be done consists of furnishing all necessary labor, tools, transportation, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to install three new Hayward Gordon 40 HP submersible chopper pumps with quick-disconnect pump guide rail supporting systems in the wet well, including all necessary material installation for piping and fitting connections in the wet well and dry well; removal of the two existing Gorman-Rupp pumps from the dry well; new conduits, new electrical wiring and all other necessary electrical connections from the new pumps to the new electrical control panel inside the dry well; and installation of the new liquid level pressure transducer and back-up float switch/liquid level pressure transducer for the new pumps. The new pumps shall be fully operational when the installation is completed. New submersible pumps will be provided by the City. The scope of work also includes the design and implementation of a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to enhance and improve the existing monitoring and operation control system. The work shall include the complete fabrication and installation of a new pump station control/SCADA panel with all necessary electrical equipment and material to replace the existing control panel. The contract is to be executed within 7 calendar days after award of contract by City Council. Time for completion of the work is thirty (30) working days from the actual start of the installation/construction of the project. There is no pre-bid meeting for the project. Bid Security: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, cash, or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to City of San Gabriel as a guarantee that the awarded bidder will execute the Contract and provide the required bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements within 7 calendars days of the of the award of contract by City Council. Questions: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be in writing or email and received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 and shall be directed to: Project Manager, Alan Mai, at email: amai@sgch.org. Award of Contract: The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 90 calendar days from the date of bid opening. |
