Larkin Water Main Modifications

Replace approximately 80 linear feet of existing cast iron water main with new 12-inch, C900 PVC pipe at the intersection of Larkin and Carroll. The replacement work shall include, but may not be limited to, the following items: 1) Install approximately 80 linear feet of internally restrained, PVC pipe. 2) Extend new pipe along Larkin from an existing 10-inch cast iron pipe near the northwest corner of Larkin @ Carroll to an existing 8-inch cast iron pipe near the northeast corner. 3) The new east/west section of water main will cross beneath an existing 36-inch RCP storm water main and above an existing 12-inch PVC sewer main. Contractor shall place 12-inch water main through 20-inch steel casing under the storm water pipe. The water main pipe joints crossing the sanitary sewer shall comply with TCEQ requirements regarding water and sewer pipeline separation. 4) Place a TEE fitting on the east/west portion of the new water main to extend the new 12-inch south from the T and connect to an existing 12-inch water main on Carroll Street. 5) Place valves on west and south side of new TEE fitting. 6) Additional 45-degree bends may be needed to align the new 12-inch water main with the existing 8-inch water main on the east side of the storm water pipe. All fittings shall be 12-inch with exception to the reducers needed to connect with existing water mains.
