Description

The Building 3201 Roof Rehabilitation Project repairs a metal roof on a occupied 150,450 SF commercial structure at the Port of Vancouver. Work includes but is not limited to the removal of existing mastic/sealant repairs, removal and replacement of deteriorated rooftop hot exhaust flue, installation of permanent reinforced fluid-applied detailing at panel patches, curb bases and other rooftop penetrations, installation of deck coating in isolated areas and removal and replacement gutters/downspouts. The proposal includes an additive/alternate to install permanent fall protection cages over all skylight curbs. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at the construction site, 3201 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660. Individuals attending the non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit will be required to furnish and utilize safety equipment to include reflective clothing (or vest) and sturdy shoes. Man-lifts and/or ladders will be available at the site visit to facilitate inspection of the current roof system as necessary; however, users must provide their own safety equipment to include PPE, harness and lanyard. The Port of Vancouver in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. The Port of Vancouver is committed to providing equal opportunities to State of Washington certified Minority, Disadvantaged and Womens Business Enterprises in contracting activities. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cashiers check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Port of Vancouver. The Port of Vancouver reserves the right to cancel this invitation or reject any and all bids submitted or to waive any minor formalities of this call if, in the judgment of the Port Commissioners, the best interests of the Port would be served. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, unless the award of contract is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) days. If it is determined to be in the best interests of the Port, the Port reserves the right to request an extension of bid prices during the review process.
