Description | o Obtaining all Fairfax County and Town of Vienna permits for the complete demolition of the building and removal of debris which shall include footings and utilities as required by each utility company. o Demolition and removal of brick entry feature sign and timber edging on the Center Street side of the building. Demolition and removal of all concrete slabs and walkways appurtenant to the building to include sidewalk along east side of building and entry to front of building. o Conducting a pre-demolition asbestos survey and taking whatever mitigation measure are required during demolition. o Coordinating with the town to ensure all gas, electric, and other utilities such as fiber optic lines are removed or disconnected as required by each provider. o Cap off of existing water service by excavating at water main, turning off corporation stop, and removing 2-inch water service. o Cap off of existing sewer service by plugging existing lateral connection at manhole on Center Street side of the property. o Coordinating with the Town to allow use of the building by the Fairfax County Fire Department for training purposes. o Providing a schedule of demolition activities upon award of the project. o Complete demolition of structure, removal, and disposal of debris; provision of dust control. o Provision of tree protection and erosion control measures as required by Town of Vienna. o Importing clean fill and topsoil as necessary to provide positive drainage after building has been removed. Provision of seed/straw to stabilize areas disturbed by the demolition work. Each bid must be accompanied by (1) cash; or (2) a Cashier's Check or a Certified Check of the Bidder made payable to the Town of Vienna; or (3) a bidder's bond on the Bid Bond Form provided herein or on a similar form which in every respect materially complies with said Bid Bond form. The amount of this bid security will be 2 1/2 % of the bid amount for bids of $100,000 or less, and 5% of the bid amount for bids greater than $100,000. For purposes of this provision, the amount of the bid shall be the Base Bid. The bidder's bond shall be issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in Virginia and acceptable to the Owner. The Successful Bidder, upon their failure or refusal to execute the Contract within fifteen (15) days after they have received notice of the acceptance of their bid, shall forfeit to the Owner the security deposited with their bid, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal. Each Bidder must acquaint themself thoroughly as to the character and nature of the Work to be done. Each Bidder furthermore must make a careful examination of the site of the Work and inform himself fully as to the difficulties to be encountered in the performance of the Work, the facilities for delivering, storing and placing materials and equipment, and other conditions relating to construction and labor Question Submission Deadline August 9, 2023, 2:00pm Every request for such interpretation should be in writing and submitted through the Town's eProcurement Portal Q&A function or emailed to jerry.amacker@viennava.gov The Town of Vienna reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept the bid(s) which, in its judgment, will be for its best interest. |
