Reconstruction of River Road

The scope of work for this contract consists of 1.7 miles of County Roadway rehabilitation in a thoroughly developed residential setting along the west bank of the Hudson River. The Project limits are between Stevenson Street and the Gov Mario M Cuomo Bridge. The project includes a new closed drainage system with outfalls to the Hudson River via permanent easements, edge drains under new granite curbing. Several gas lines, watermains and services are anticipated to be relocated by the respective utility companies. This contract includes test excavations to confirm the utility locations/conflict with the new drainage system, and rock locations at the deeper prefabricated stormwater treatment structures. A continuous concrete sidewalk will be constructed on the east side of the roadway. There are isolated pavement reconstruction areas, and the remaining pavement will be milled and overlayed with a two-course hot-mix asphalt. Signs, roadway striping, and final restoration are also included.
