Description | A. The work will done under one prime contract that includes: General, Mechanical, and Electrical construction. B. The following summary is a general guide to the scope of work. It should not be construed as a detailed list of work included in the contract. 1.) Mechanical improvements will include demolition of existing equipment and the installation of new air handling units, air cooled chillers, heat pump chiller, chilled water buffer tank, chilled water pumps, ductwork, VAV boxes, electric boilers and controls, makeup air unit, exhaust fans, valves, piping and all associated work to make a fully operational system. 2.) Mechanical improvements will also include demolition of existing domestic hot water tanks and the installation of a new centralized domestic hot water system. 3.) Building Automation System (BAS) will include upgrades at both the Water’s Edge facility and the neighboring RTMC facility. 4.) Electrical improvements will include demolition and electrical work to accommodate mechanical upgrades including the removal and reinstallation of LED lighting and public announcement systems throughout the facility and VA equipment in conference rooms. 5.) Electrical low voltage demolition and improvements associated with furniture modifications. 6.) Furniture modifications consisting of using mostly existing furniture to provide a more uniform layout with respect to size of cubicles but also providing space around the perimeter of the facility floorplate to accommodate new mechanical improvements. 7.) Construction documents have been provided to a schematic level for this project to reflect the overall project scope and basis of design. The contracting team shall provide architecture/engineering design services for preparation of final construction documents to a level that will provide the capability of attaining a building permit. Architectural/engineering services shall be provided by professionals licensed in the State of Minnesota. Design disciplines may include but are not limited to, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architecture. |
