Centerville Turnpike Loop 3 Water Main Phase 2

The Work under this Project consists of the construction of a new water main along Centerville Turnpike to extend from a connection to an existing 16" water main in Elbow Road south to a connection with an existing 16" water main near Waterway Circle, and to connect the new 16" water main with an existing 12" water main in Butts Station Road. The work includes construction of 8,990 feet of new water main to increase the redundancy of the treated water distribution system. The water main will consist of 1,135 feet of 12 inch diameter ductile iron pipe, 4,865 feet of 16 inch diameter ductile iron pipe, 1,650 feet of 20 inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe installed by trench excavation, and 1,340 feet of 20 inch nominal O.D. HDPE pipe installed by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) under the Intracoastal Waterway. All existing residences, commercial, and religious organization structures along the water line route that are not currently served by City water will be connected to the new water main. The work will also include HDD installation of four 4 inch nominal O.D. HDPE empty cable conduits installed parallel to the 20 inch HDPE pipe installed by HDD. This project is Phase 2 of the total water main project.
