These specifications provide details regarding the scope of work for construction and testing of a new drywell system for the City of Gresham (City) to be located in SE 217th Avenue in Gresham, Oregon (see Figure 1); the construction site (Site) is located near the future Cascade Well 10 municipal water well site and east of the North Gresham Elementary School property. Construction of the new drywell system will include installation of two approximately 30-foot deep drywells, a sedimentation manhole, a ditch inlet, and associated storm water drain piping (i.e., conveyance piping) connecting these devices. The new drywell system will be used for discharge of groundwater generated during testing of Cascade Well 10, and will continue to be used for pump-to-waste operations and management of stormwater runoff from the Cascade 10 well site after it is developed and operational. These specifications supplement the City's 2022 Public Works Standards. The conceptual designs for the new drywell system as outlined in these specifications represent anticipated designs; the City expects that the final designs will be based on the subsurface conditions and other situations encountered during excavation and will be finalized by the Contractor in consultation with the City and/or City's Representative. The City's Representative will also periodically observe the completion of the drywell system excavation and construction work by the Contractor on behalf of the City. The actual quantities may change based on the final depths of the drywells (i.e., if a drywell can only be installed to 20 feet below ground or 25 feet below ground due to, for example, refusal on boulders). The City reserves the right to limit (reduce) any aspect of the project for any reason. There shall be no recourse by the Contractor for loss of project revenue or value as a result of reduced scope. Additional labor, materials, equipment, or other items not described in these specifications, but necessary to complete the work, shall be considered as incidental items. Scope of Work Work completed at the Site will generally consist of excavation, construction, and testing of the new drywells, treatment devices, and associated storm drain piping with the following estimated construction features and minimum specifications: |
