Main Street Parking Improvements

Description of the Project is as follows: The work on this project consists of reconstruction of the existing parking area, sidewalks, and drainage structures along the south side of Main Street between 1st Cross Street and 2nd Cross Street in the Village of Mechanicsburg. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following approximate quantities: 153 Cubic Yards Removal and Disposal of Unsuitable Material 1,077 Square Yards Aggregate Base Course, Type B, 4" 775 Square Yards Portland Cement Concrete Pavement 6" 2,581 Square Feet Portland Cement Concrete Sidewalk 4 Inch 526 Square Yards Pavement Removal 2,221 Square Feet Sidewalk Removal 232 Foot Storm Sewers, Class B, Type 1 12" 3 Each Manholes, Type A, 4'-Diameter, Type 3 Frame and Grate 3 Each Removing Inlets 231 Concrete Curb, Type B 6.2 Square Feet Paint Pavement Marking - Letters and Symbols 1,447 Foot Paint Pavement Marking - Line 4" 247 Foot Storm Sewer Removal 1 Lump Sum Trafic Control and Protection, (Special) Attention is called to the fact that only bid proposals that cover ALL the WORK will be accepted and read aloud by the Village. Partial bids will not be accepted. Copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications may be examined at the following locations: 4 Mechanicsburg Village Hall, 204 W. Main Street, Mechanicsburg, IL 62545 4 Kuhn & Trello Consulting Engineers, LLC, 109 N. 7th Street, 3rd Floor, Springield, IL 62701 A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Village of Mechanicsburg, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety in an amount equal to Ten Percent (10%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid for each Contract. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Furthermore, this contract is available to minority and women contractors. Bidders shall actively solicit minority and women subcontractors and shall maintain records of their solicitation process. The Village of Mechanicsburg reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids, any or all bid items, or to waive any informalities in the bidding, and/or award process. Bids may be held by the Village of Mechanicsburg for a period of 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
