Description | Project has been designed to seal 210 LF of stream that is losing water to the underlying deep mines. The approximate depth to the top of the Pittsburgh Coal seam is 23’ at the stream centerline. This area has been identified by electro-resistivity testing as one of the most susceptible areas of water loss on Winebrenner Run. The intent of the project is to locate the mine entries below the stream channel by drilling exploratory holes on the south side of the stream. Once entries are located on the south side of the stream, exploratory drilling will commence on the other side of the stream to identify entries crossing the stream. After entries are defined, production holes shall be angle drilled to terminus directly under the stream. |
