Gulf Brook Restoration - Phase III

Project 1 This project involves the restoration of approximately 390 linear feet of the Gulf Brook including the restoration of stream access to a flood bypass channel and adding bank and road protection for the existing home and roadway. Project 3 This project involves the restoration of approximately 360 linear feet of the Gulf Brook including raising the grade of the channel bottom, widening the channel and shifting the stream centerline away from the roadway and reconstructing the toe of an existing rip-rap revetment. Project 4 This project involves the restoration of approximately 100 linear feet of the Gulf Brook. This work includes the replacement of the existing Hurricane Road embankment armor with a stacked stone wall and the installation of grade control structures to arrest head-cut at the confluence with Jones Brook. Project 5 This project involves the restoration of approximately 500 linear feet of the Gulf Brook including the removal of large woody debris blocking a large flood chute and floodplain on the south bank. Removal of windrowed cobbles and boulders from the tops of banks. Stabilize the failing bank between the Gulf Brook and Jackson Road. Distribute large boulders within the low flow channel to increase roughness and improve habitat.
