Macomb County Jail Door Replacement Project

The project consists of door replacement work at the Macomb County Jail consisting of all necessary prep to perform work in the following areas: MENTAL HEALTH AREA Remove existing deteriorated HM secure doors, frames and attached partial height sidelights where noted complete and all associated material. Frames are to be cut at the head, where noted. Metal plate at the door head to remain, where noted. Provide and install new HM secure doors, frames and partial height sidelights where indicated on drawings. Provide new hardware. RE-weld the new frames to the existing steel structure and metal panels at the door head, where noted. Contractor shall provide and install new security glass as indicated on the drawings. Contractor shall rewire door position switch and solenoid operated dead latch for each opening. Repair/replace damage to the exiting SGFT during door replacement. Contractor shall include 325 sf of SGFT in their bid for patching. Unused SGFT shall become property of Owner. Grout new frames. Paint new frames with Tnemec Paint. REHAB AREA Remove existing deteriorated HM secure doors and frames and all associated material. Remove portion of existing masonry as required to provide access to lock as shown on details. Provide and install new HM secure door and frame as shown on drawings. provide new hardware. Contractor shall provide and install new security glass as indicated on the drawings. Contractor shall rewire door position switch and solenoid operated dead latch. Repair/replace damage to the existing concrete wall structure, CMU and brick during door replacement. Contractor shall include in their bid 100 brick and 10sf of block. Unused brick and block shall become property of Owner. Grout in new frames. Paint new doors and frames and associated material with Tnemec paint. BOOKING AREA Remove existing deteriorated HM secure sliding door. Existing frame to remain. Provide and install new HM secure door as shown on drawings. Provide new hardware, and new sliding door carriage with solid state machine wheels with sealed ball or needle bearings to match existing on hardened steel spindles. Provide new steel track in horizontal housing and new bottom door guide to prevent door carriage from being dislodged. The door hanger assembly shall be so engaged to the track that it cannot be lifted off or forced out of alignment. Reuse existing horizontal housing above sliding door protecting the operating and locking mechanism. Contractor shall provide and install new security glass in the door as indicated on the drawings. Contractor shall rewire door position switch. Paint new door and existing frame both sides and associated material with Tnemec paint
