Description

Village of Blissfield, Michigan Village Clerk's Office - Village Hall PO BOX 129 - 130 South Lane St. Blissfield, MI 49228 (517) 486-4347 This is not a purchase order. Bid for Blissfield 2023 Sidewalk Replacement in accordance with the "Bid Specifications" and "Bid Form" for this Bid. The Village of Blissfield reserves the right to evaluate variations and award the bid that best meets its needs as the most qualified and responsible bidder. Bidders are required to indicate variations from the specifications in the space provided and return it with your bid. Bidders not complying with this requirement are subject to rejection. Please include any brochures or descriptive literature including warranty information with your submitted bid. Blissfield is seeking bids for various sidewalk replacements both 4' and 6' wide walkways. The contractor shall remove any existing sidewalks as directed or marked by the Village. Sidewalks are in various areas in the Village. The contractor shall be responsible for the disposal of any sidewalks that are removed. The contractor shall install replacement sidewalks for all areas where sidewalks were removed. Replacement walks shall be a full 4" in thickness, and a full 6" in thickness where a walk crosses a driveway. Replacement slabs shall match the width and grades of the remaining sidewalks as closely as possible. In no case, however, will replacement walks be less than 3 feet in width. The contractor shall be responsible for all traffic control and direction, for both vehicles and pedestrians, as needed. The contractor will also be responsible for advance notification of residents. Affected residents shall be given at least 24 hours advance notice of any sidewalk work. The contractor shall remove all tree roots in the area in which new or replacement sidewalks are to be constructed. All sidewalks shall be constructed of concrete. All concrete used in sidewalk shall be capable or resisting a pressure of 2,500 PSI without failure, twenty-eight (28) days after construction. Where sidewalks intersect a street, the contractor shall construct said sidewalks in accordance with MDOT specifications. All such sidewalks shall be installed so as to be handicapped-accessible, including any curb cuts that are needed. Any required curb cuts shall be horizontally cut, completely through the curb face, at a height of 1 inch above the street or gutter pan level. The contractor will be responsible for any required site restoration, including fill, grading, grass seeding, mulching, etc. The contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup of all work areas, upon completion of the project.
