The BTD&S acts as the state expert relied upon to develop and present sensible policy direction as it relates to traffic count collection, Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) and Traffic-Volume-Systems (TVS). The BTD&S is responsible for management of the state responsibilities to collect traffic volume, classification and weight data as reported to the Federal Highway Administration, FHWA.
