Description

Addition & Renovations to Brown Elementary School 550 Miller Lane Seymour, IN 47274 The work is to be constructed according to Plans and Specifications prepared by VPS Architecture, 528 Main Street, Suite 400, Evansville, Indiana 47708 (812) 423-7729. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Seymour Community Schools will receive sealed bid for the furnishing of all materials and labor for the Addition & Renovations to Brown Elementary School The deposit will be refunded in full to any bidder or sub-bidder bidder when the Plans and Specifications have been returned to Repro Graphix within four (4) days after the time set for receiving bids, in good re-usable condition. If Plans and Specifications are returned after this four (4) day limit, or in an unusable condition, the deposit shall be forfeited to cover the cost of reproduction. It is mandatory that each bidder shall obtain one (1) complete set of bidding documents. A maximum of two (2) sets of bid documents will be available on a refundable deposit basis to each bidder or sub-bidder. If mailing is required, mailing costs shall be paid for by the bidder or sub-bidder. The Bidder shall refer to the Instructions to Bidders, bound in the Project Manual, for additional bidding procedures and requirements. The Plans and Specifications may be examined at the following: Office of the Architect VPS Architecture 528 Main Street, Suite 400 Evansville, IN 47708 or BXIndiana 1028 Shelby Street Indianapolis, IN 46203 BID SECURITY Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to Seymour Community Schools in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or an acceptable bidder's surety bond made payable to Seymour Community Schools, not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or bidder's bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to him, execute within ten (10) days from the acceptance of his proposal a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the specifications. However, if the contractor has not executed the contract within the ten (10) day period or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as indicated, the Owner reserves the right to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and the bid security will be forfeited. Bids shall be properly and completely submitted on the latest version of Contractor's Bid for Public Bidding Form No. 96, as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts for the State of Indiana, in addition to the Bid Form included in the Project Manual. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS A Financial Statement is a required attachment to Form 96. OWNER'S RIGHT TO REJECT BIDS Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities if deemed to be for the best interest of the Corporation. Biders and sub-bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Bidding Documents shall make a written request which shall reach the Architect at least seven days prior to the date for receipt of Bids and shall be directed to George Link glink@vpsarch.com at the office of the Architect, VPS Architecture, 528 Main Street, Suite 400, Evansville IN 47708. LAWS AND REGULATIONS Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed. All bidders must conform to the anti-discrimination provisions of the Indiana law Substantial Completion: July 31, 2024. Renovations inside the building shall occur over the Summer of 2024
