Description | Estimated Budget : $3,500,000 to $4,000,000 Roof Replacement and Retrofit Project.- Replacement and retrofit of roofs at Roosevelt ES, Franklin ES, Lincoln MS, John Adams MS, and Samohi. The project will also include the replacement of exposed rain gutters and downspouts on buildings associated with roofing replacement/retrofit improvements. Locations: Roosevelt ES: 801 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90403 Franklin ES: 2400 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90403 Lincoln MS: 1501 California Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90403 John Adams MS: 2425 16th St, Santa Monica, CA 90405 Samohi: 601 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405 Prequalification. The District will accept bids only from those bidders who have been prequalified by the District to bid on this Project at least five business days prior to bid opening. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111.6, Contractors and subcontractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 and C-46 licenses must be pre-qualified at least five business days prior to bid opening. 3. Registration with DIR. Pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5, all bidders and their subcontractors of any tier must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations in order to submit a bid, be listed in a bid proposal, or engage in the performance of this contract. 4. Bid Security. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of any additive Bid Alternates. Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. 5. No Withdrawal of Bid Proposals. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals Substitute Security. Substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure the Contractor's performance under the Contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor and in conformity with Public Contract Code22300. The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded shall have thirty (30) days following award of the Contract to such Bidder to submit its written request to the District to permit the substitution of securities for retention. The failure of the Bidder to make such written request to the District within said thirty (30) day period shall be deemed a waiver of the Bidder's rights under Public Contract Code 22300. 11. Award of Contract. The Contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's of Education to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. |
