North Castle Public Library Truss Project Re-Bid

As of January 9, 2023, there were no bids received. No definite date for the rebid. The work consists of: The roof over the Adult Reading Room is supported by two timber trusses, retrofitted in the past by means of steel rods with turnbuckles. The existing trusses have deteriorated and additional cracks are in the walls at the truss support points and the retrofit steel rods are insufficiently tensioned. The truss retrofit repair will consist of the installation of timber members and/or steel plates bolted over the existing truss members, in the potential retrofit of the existing vertical supports at the trusses end points, and in the potential reinforcement of the trusses support members from the lower level. The trusses retrofit assumes that all work will be done from within the space below the trusses, and that the roof and roof rafters will be kept as-is.
