Description | SAI Facility - Various Building Demolition - Phase 2 The subject property consists of seventeen (17) correctional facility structures and associated utility connections. Structure types include housing, instructional, storage, food service, maintenance, administrative, wells, and utility service. Construction is generally slab-on-grade utilizing concrete masonry unit (CMU) and brick structural construction. Several structures are located outside the secure perimeter of the site, including a water tower holding tank, a well house, and a small storage barn. Physical disconnection of site utilities from the municipal lift station outside the secure perimeter is included in the description of work. Asbestos is present in various locations and quantities within the structures to be demolished. Refer to hazardous material identification documentation provided in 02 26 00 Hazardous Materials Assessment. Lead was detected in paint samples. It is likely that original paint film contains lead which has been diluted with additional, non-lead paint. The potential for individual samples of the concrete waste stream to produce analytical results with a detection for lead indicates that all painted concrete and masonry products should be landfilled in accordance with State of Michigan rules. The demolition scope includes demolition and disposal of buildings, sidewalks, paved roads, perimeter fencing, physical disconnection of site from municipal lift station, and removal of all buried utilities less than two feet below grade including utility connections related to water storage. Permanent physical disconnection of site utilities at the municipal lift station located at Cassidy and Waterloo Roads shall be completed in coordination with appropriate agencies and in a manner which does not impact that function of the municipal lift station. Wells located within the work area shall be appropriately abandoned by qualified personnel, including State of Michigan required well closure documentation. ACCEPTING QUESTIONS UNTIL: October 12, 2022 at 5:00 pm local time. Questions shall be submitted in writing to Alexi Koltowicz via e-mail at akoltowicz@trimediaee.com 5% Bid Security |
