Description

The work to be bid upon is described as follows, but not limited to: Selective demolition of existing bank building and construction of new Municipal Building with new ground floor entry, Council Chambers, offices, and conference rooms, including interior construction, ADA renovations, repurposing of teller counters, new electrical and HVAC, restroom renovations, and security upgrades. The project is identified as Oak Hill Municipal Building Renovations Construction time limit is 270 calendar days. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond payable to the owner for five (5) percent Of the total amount of the base bid. When the agreement is executed, the bonds of the Remaining unsuccessful bidders will be returned. The bid bond of the successful bidder will Be retained until the payment bond and performance bond have been furnished, after Which the bid bond will be returned. A certified check may be furnished as a bid bond. An Example document, bid bond, is enclosed and must be used by the bidder A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of theContract price, with a corporate surety approved by the owner, will be required for the Faithful performance of the contract. A sample construction performance bond andConstruction payment bond are enclosed and must be used by the successful Contractor. The owner reserves the right To reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the agreement And to complete the work contemplated therein.
