Description | Conduct a system-wide odor and corrosion evaluation and to develop an odor and corrosion control strategy for the OMID System. The results of the study are presented in the "Oakland-Macomb Interceptor Drain Odor and Corrosion Control Draft Study Report". For maintaining buried civil infrastructure that includes large diameter sanitary sewer piping, with accompanying manholes and other appurtenances both on the Oakland-Macomb Interceptor Drain (OMID), at the Northeast Sewage Pumping Station (NESPS) located at 11001 East State Fair Detroit, MI 48234, and on the North Interceptor- East Arm (NI-EA) which is downstream of the NESPS, ultimately terminating at Mt. Elliot and Gratiot in Detroit, MI. Currently of specific interest, is the need to establish odor and corrosion control facilities along the OMID system (See Appendix A) to mitigate hydrogen sulfide damage within the interceptor and nuisance odors to the general public. |
