Description | This work consists of the construction of a single layer bituminous surface treatment (chip seal) in accordance with these specifications and in reasonably close conformity with the lines shown on the plans or established by the Engineer. The application rates of asphalt material and aggregates will vary with aggregate size and existing roadway conditions but, for bid purposes only, the bituminous material and cover material shall be estimated by the Contractor. The rates in the below table are provided as guidance for the Contractor if desired with ranges in parentheses. The Engineer will review the actual application rates. Level & Seal approximately 11 miles of SR 395 from the Neshoba County Line to SR 15, approximately 4.6 miles of SR 393 from the Neshoba County Line to SR 490 & approximately 18.2 miles of SR 490 from SR 15 to the EOSM, known as State Project Nos.MP-1395-80(006) / 306965301, MP-1393-80(002) / 306965302 & MP-1490-80(004) / 306965303 in Winston County. Project Completion: 104 Working Days Value Estimate range - 1,000,000 - $5,000,000 For Federal Aid Projects the attention of bidders is directed to the contract provisions governing selection and employment of labor contained in the bid proposal. Minimum wage rates for Federal Aid Projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the contract provisions. Unless otherwise set out in the bid proposal, all other projects are subject to the predetermined minimum wage rate set by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Fair Labor Standards Act. When a DBE goal is contained in the contract, the award will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE requirements. Bid bond, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent or qualified non-resident agent, with Power of Attorney attached or on file with the Contract Administration Engineer of the Department, a Cashier's Check or Certified Check for five (5%) percent of bid, payable to State of Mississippi, must accompany each proposal.
