Old Asheville Highway Widening Project

Widening and resurfacing of an existing portion of Old Asheville Hwy. Widening and resurfacing of a portion of the existing Old Asheville Hwy. The project is for widening of Old Asheville Hwy and will include the excavation of 4 feet wide for the placement of 6 inches of asphalt base on the let side (from north to south) and a 2-inch overlay of the project area (20' x 1430'). Upon completion of asphalt, the shoulders on both sides of the project will need to be built back and any disturbed areas are to be seeded. Shoulder material shall be screened topsoil. Along the let side of the project shall also include the cleaning out of the existing ditch to ensure proper drainage and seeded upon completion along the 1430 t of the proposed widening. Use portable traffic control, warning signs and flaggers as necessary. The project will start at approximately 1130 t. south of the intersection of Asheville Hwy and Old Asheville Hwy near the baseball Fields for Landrum High School. The start is at Control Point 0+00.00 and end at 14+30.00 both areas are marked with paint and a nail in the center of the roadway. 0+00.00 is located north of 485 Old Asheville Hwy. 14+30.00 is located just south ofthe intersection ofOld Asheville Hwy and Cane Creek Way
