Description

City of Elroy - Retaining Wall & Site Improvements Retaining wall construction including approximately 350 linear feet of post and panel retaining wall (averaging 10-20 feet of exposed vertical face), 600 linear feet of drain tile installation, beam guard installation, chain link fencing, and two sets of cast-in-place concrete steps with railings. Site preparation for a building including removals, grading and excavation, testing of and removal and disposal of contaminated material and temporary erosion control measures. Alley construction including, pavement removal, 200 LF of concrete curb and gutter installation, salvaging and placing dense graded base, installation of approximately 700 tons of virgin dense graded base, paving approximately 365 tons of asphaltic concrete pavement, topsoil placement, turf restoration, and all other surface restoration necessary for a complete project. Estimated Completion Date: 12/31/2022 DESCRIPTION OF WORK 9 A. Contracts awarded are funded with Federal Funds allocated through the 10 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). 11 B. Main Street Alley and Franklin Street Grading and Restoration 12 1. Removals of existing asphalt pavement and concrete flatwork in alley and 13 Franklin Street from alley to High Street. Clearing and grubbing and 14 miscellaneous removals. 15 2. Excavate the alley to subgrade where utilities were not installed. 16 3. Install dense graded base in the alley to proposed grades. 17 4. Salvage and reinstall excess dense graded base placed by others. 18 5. HMA paving of alley, concrete curb and gutter, and turf restoration around 19 alley and Franklin Street. 20 C. Lot Grading/Preparation 21 1. Removals of contaminated material. 22 2. Removals of existing concrete retaining wall, concrete steps, curb and gutter, 23 and flatwork. 24 3. Grade slope from alley to lot at 3H:1V slope for alley construction. 25 4. Remove excess material below soldier pile and lagging retaining wall once 26 wall is complete. Grade lot to 976.0 +/- from wall bottom to existing 27 sidewalk along Main Street. 28 D. Soldier Pile and Lagging Retaining Wall. 29 1. Construct soldier pile and lagging retaining wall. 30 2. Install HDPE perforated drain tile above and below retaining wall. 31 3. Construct concrete steps and CIP retaining wall aftersoldier pile and lagging 32 retaining wall is complete. 33 4. Install beam guard and complete restoration around retaining walls. Multiple Locations Are Available In This Project.
