Description | The goal of this contract will be to design and develop construction estimates and bid documents for a sewage lift station replacement. This sewage lift station will be re-located from its existing location and increased in size to improve accessibility, operations and capacity. The project should include the following elements: 1. Find a suitable nearby location for a replacement lift station. Preparations must be made so this location can be easily accessed by the City “Vactor” truck and maintenance crews. 2. A seamless transition from an existing collection manhole to the replacement lift station 3. Ensure continuous ability to pump wastewater load during the transition 4. Analysis and plans for tying new lift station discharge into existing force main 5. Evaluate and design wet-well and pump capacity based on existing flow and potential new development, approximate peak of 700gpm 6. Conformance to Regulation 22 7. Design a foundation for a prefabricated station or for a permanent structure lift station depending on design review, cost of package plant versus constructed lift station and time duration for both options. This can be broken up into Alternative One and Alternative Two in the proposals. 8. Evaluate the location and placement of enclosure/building 9. Evaluate the incoming 8” gravity lines for sufficiency to carry the proposed peak flow capacity. There are two 8” lines feeding the current lift station, the city can provide information on how the flows are distributed between the two lines. 10. Evaluate location and placement of diesel engine generator to operate lift station as backup. 11. Provide the City a Basis of Design Review (BDR) to submit to Colorado Department of Public Health and environment (CDPHE) based on Colorado design criteria for domestic wastewater treatment works. |
