Paticipatory Budget Bus Shelter Project

Participatory Budgeting has allocated funds to install bus shelters at existing stops that lack shelters and other stop amenities in nearby areas. Included in the project are additional elements such as artwork commissioned by local artists, usage of renewable materials, and solar panel installations to power USB charging stations and lighting to improve rider safety. This project will make improvements to nine (9) existing bus stops throughout the City of Durham. The work includes installation or repair of concrete pads, installation of shelters, solar light poles, purchase and installation of bike racks, and garbage cans. The shelter structures have been purchased by City of Durham and located on GoTriangle property located at 324 W Lane Street, Raleigh, NC. Contractor is responsible for pick-up of shelters.
