Water Main Replacement Quarter Sections 10-33, 10-24, and 2-29

Construction Managers at Risk (CMAR) to provide preconstruction services and complete construction services for the replacement of water mains in the quarter sections: 10-33, 10-24 and 2-29. The selected CMARs will work as a team with the designer of record and City staff to ensure an efficient design approach for the project. The estimated construction cost for each project is: WS85509026 - $6.7 million; WS85509029 - $11.5 million; WS85509061 - $4.7 million. The Water Main Replacement Program evaluates and replaces aging water mains within the City of Phoenix. The primary focus of the program is currently water mains in alleys and easements which have historically had high break rates and are difficult to repair. Work for this project will include installation of new 6” to 12” water mains, multiple cut and plugs, and installation or relocation of fire hydrants. Coordination with City staff and plumbing contractors regarding relocation of water services may also be required. The project locations and approximate water main replacement linear feet (LF) are split into three areas to be awarded separately. The highest dollar value/most complicated project will be awarded to the firm scoring the highest during the SOQ evaluation process; the next highest dollar project will be awarded to the firm scoring second in the evaluation process, etc. 1. WS85509029: QS 10-24 Buckeye – Van Buren / 23rd Ave – 19th Ave 46,696 LF of Main, 69 fire hydrants, 37 cut and plugs and 762 services. 2. WS85509026: QS 10-33 Washington – Van Buren / 20th St – 36th St 22,185 LF of Main, 31 fire hydrants, 25 cut and plugs, and 291 services. 3. WS85509061: QS 2-29 Southern Ave – Vineyard Rd / 7th St -12th St 19,582 LF of Main, 21 fire hydrants, 24 cut and plugs and 237 services.
