Description

Optional Site Visit If indicated in Section I, a site visit will be available during the RFQ Phase. The proposed Franklin Avenue Elementary School will be a new 85,000 total square foot, two story, steel framed building located at 22 Franklin Avenue Westfield, MA. Estimated project construction cost is $52M. The project involves two story construction, and will include all site development work including earthwork and site improvements, as well as the demolition of the existing school building. General Site: 1. Stormwater management and general site improvements 2. Parking lot improvements and expansion, including a driveway 3. New utilities 4. Demolition of existing structure (phase II) Architectural: 1. New Construction, steel frame, partial masonry façade, w/ membrane roof MEP: 1. All new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, & Fire Protection / life safety systems The City of Westfield invites statements of qualifications from interested and qualified firms for General Contractor and Filed Sub-Bid Subcontractor services for the construction of their new 5,000 Gross SF elementary school. The construction project is scheduled to start April 2023 and be completed for occupancy by the 2024-2025 school year. The RFQ is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process and will be used to prequalify filed sub-bid subcontractors and the general contractors who will be invited to submit bids pursuant to MGL c. 149 44E as amended by statute 2004 c.193. Qualifications will be evaluated by the evaluation committee comprised of our OPM P3, our Designer Caolo & Bieniek, the CPO, the School Business Manager and Facilities Director. A list of prequalified subcontractors and general contractors will be provided to all prequalified bidders following the prequalification process. Prequalified filed sub-bid subcontractors and General Contractors only shall be allowed to submit bids.
