Description

The Department of Parks & Recreation has facilities throughout each of the six council districts that make up the Town of Brookhaven. The types of facilities include marinas (power posts), ballfields (natural and artificial), outdoor pavilions, amphitheaters, beaches, pools (indoor and outdoor), aquatic spray feature parks, pump houses, irrigation systems, waterslides, basketball & tennis courts, picnic areas, fishing piers, comfort stations (prefabricated and conventional stick-frame) and community centers. While the Department consists of a wide range of recreational facilities, they also are responsible to maintain all municipal buildings situated in the Town of Brookhaven. Therefore, the scope of work under this on-call contract will include all electrical maintenance and repair of existing buildings and the infrastructure needed to support these buildings. Maintenance (which includes an annual ball field lighting system inspection program) and new installation of exterior lighting systems for parking lots and ballfields are included in the services required under this contract. Question Deadline 07/12/2023 4:30 PM ET The bid must be accompanied by a certified check on a solvent bank or trust company, or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to 5% of the total amount bid, made payable to the Town of Brookhaven (herein referred to as Owner as assurance that the bid is made in good faith. The certified check or bid bond of the successful bidder will be retained until filing and approval of the Performance Bond and until the completion of 10% of the work under the contract.(d) the certified check or bid bond of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned after the award of the bid contract. The successful bidder shall be required to execute a Performance Bond equal to twenty five percent(25%) of the annual amount of the contract. Prior to the entering of the contract, where the aggregate amount of the contract is fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) or greater, the successful bidder shall be required to execute a payment bond equal to twenty five percent (25%) of the annual value of the contract. Liquidated damages in the amount set forth in the Conditions of Contract attached hereto may be assessed for each consecutive calendar day of delay by the Contractor not excusable as provided in the Contract Documents. The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject and declare invalid any or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, all in the best interests of the Town. The Town of Brookhaven welcomes and encourages minorities and women-owned businesses and HUD Section 3 businesses to participate in the bidding process.
