Description

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Frederick, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium; and educational facility. The Visual & Performing Arts Building contains the JBK Theater with support spaces, art gallery, music classrooms and labs, ceramics classrooms with kiln and support spaces, art classrooms, general classroom, and offices. The building is in fair condition. Due to its age, the interior finishes and many program spaces are beyond useful life and require replacement. The project is included in the county's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
