Resident Drop-Off Facility Retaining Wall Rehabilitation

The work of this contract is for construction of the rehabilitation of the existing deteriorated precast T-Wall retaining wall that services the resident drop-off facility at the S.W.M. North Hempstead Transfer Station site. It involves the following major components of the work and features and as further depicted and detailed on the associated construction drawings, specifications and related other contract documents: 1) Demolition of top portions of the existing wall. 2) Remove and replace broken precast T-Wall blocks. 3) Remove vegetation from exposed surface of existing retaining wall. 4) Patching the cracks and spalls in the exposed surfaces of existing Replacing T-Wall 5) Construction of a new integral reinforced concrete parapet/moment slab on top of the remaining portions of the existing retaining wall. Installation of bollards outside of the moment slab to protect the parapet wall. 6) Installation of an additional container roll-off reinforced concrete parking/support slab. 7) Removal and replacement of a portion of the abutting disturbed asphalt pavement to smoothly transition from the edges of the newly installed concrete features to the existing asphalt pavement surface.
