| Description | The Planning and Zoning Division has started work on an update to the City’s landscape standards. The objectives of the update include the following: 3.1 Consolidation and Modernization – Consolidate the City’s landscape standards into a single reference document. Modernized standards should be easily accessible, implementable, and consistent in application; 3.2 Water Conservation – Ensure continuity between water conservation goals outlined in the general plan and the updated landscape standards; 3.3 Best Practices – Ensure standards incorporate appropriate horticultural best management practices for optimum health, efficient maintenance, and long-term viability of landscaping; 3.4 Aesthetics and Function – Standards should promote landscape designs that provide visual and physical enhancement to the city and encourage the design of outdoor spaces that are safe, usable, and functional; and, 3.5 Context of Design – Standards should promote designs and planting palettes that enhance and complement the land uses and character of the surrounding area. | ||||
