Description

1. Removal, disposal and replacement of cast iron waste piping as shown in attachment 1, this piping is located in the ceiling space of classrooms B-104 and B-106 at CHS 2. Ceiling tile and grid removal and replacement as needed; SMCPS to provide replacement ceiling tiles if needed. 3. Provide floor protection 4. The wastewater piping will be replaced with polypropylene piping and fittings 5. The replacement piping will be reconnected to the existing drain and vent riser systems 6. All work will be completed between March 27, 2021 and April 4, 2021 7. The wastewater piping replacement will include all piping from the existing drain and vent riser systems to the existing plumbing fixtures including floor drain in classrooms B 206-204-202. 8. Product 1. Pipe: All pipe through 12” shall be extruded from Group 2 Class 1 ASTM D 4101 Polypropylene resin. All piping is produced based on an SDR system and calculated utilizing a Hydrostatic Design Basis according to ASTM D 2837 2. Fittings : All fittings through 12” shall be injected molded. Fittings shall have same wall thickness and pressure ratings as the pipe. 3. Hanging: Pipe shall be hung in accordance with manufacturers recommendations to avoid damage to the pipe. Proper support spacing is required in order to avoid sagging of the material. 2 Support spacing is temperature dependent and shall be based on manufacturer recommendations. Hangers shall be supplied by the pipe manufacturer or shall be a recommended style by the pipe manufacturer. U-bolt hangers are not allowed due to pinpoint loading affects.
