Adult Residential Center - Shawnee County

This project is included in the Shawnee County Capital Improvement Plan fiscal years 2022-2029. As of June 12, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however funding is allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not been released. Purchase of appropriate property and construction (or renovation) of a 60-bed Adult Residential Center for the housing of eligible felony probationers. In addition to sleeping quarters, the facility would have programming rooms, offices, and common meeting areas within a secure perimeter. The facility would need to be constructed in a manner that will allow future expansion with a similar profile (modular construction). Costs are estimated from similar facilities constructed in other jurisdictions, as no budgetary bid has yet been obtained for this project. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
