It is expressly understood that the bidder is responsible for getting the bid proposals to the Purchasing Manager prior to the time and date set for the bid opening. C008 General Construction Each bidder must deposit with his Bid, a security in the amount of not less than 10% of the Bid, but in no case to exceed $20,000, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24, in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond in the form provided in the Bidding Documents under Section B: "Instructions to Bidders", with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner, naming as obligee, in favor of the Owner as a guarantee that, in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, she/he will execute such contract. The bid security is to be retained and applied as provided, in case bidder would default in executing the Agreement or furnishing the required bonds and insurance certificates as required by the Contract Documents .
