Berkeley Springs Train Depot Interior Restoration Project

The rehabilitation of the interior of the Berkeley Springs Train Depot and perimeter site. The original building was built circa 1914. The project includes restoration of the interior wall and ceiling plaster, beadboard ceilings, wainscoting and trim, wall and floor tile, tongue and groove floors, and doors. The project also includes the selective demolition of non-historic walls, ceilings, features and materials, and the widening of three doors for ADA compliance. In addition, the project includes; and modification of plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems. The project includes minor mechanical work as follows: modification of existing HVAC air distribution ductwork, and modification of exhaust equipment and ductwork. The project includes electrical work as follows: replacement of existing distribution panelboard, new electrical service entrance, interior lighting and controls, power distribution for lighting, receptacles, and equipment, communications and security system box and raceway infrastructure, and life safety related systems, such as emergency and exit lighting. The project includes minor plumbing work as follows: removal of existing fixtures and installation of new fixtures, installation of new domestic water service, water heater, domestic hot and cold water distribution piping, sanitary piping and vent piping.
