Description | This contract provides for concrete pavement repairs to the existing ramps and main Connector of the interchange. Work will also include structure guiderail approach modification, drainage upgrades, bridge barrier concrete patching, inlet repairs, guide rail upgrades, shoulder stabilization, permanent pavement markings, delineation, and post mounted signs. Maintenance and Protection of interchange traffic is also included. Major work items include the following approximate amounts: 2,479 CY Excavation, Various Classes 2,336 TON Subbase 1,318 TON Superpave Asphalt Courses 3,358 LF Joint Rehabilitation 4,121 SY Concrete Pavement Patching 1,043 SF Concrete Pavement Partial-Depth Repair 21,719 LF Transverse Joint Cleaning and Sealing 34,831 LF Longitudinal Joint Cleaning and Sealing 28 EACH Inlet and Manhole Repairs/Upgrades 3,650 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 1,993 LF Rock Armor 5,417 SY Shoulder Backup 32,008 LF Waterborne Pavement Marking 3,383 LF Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Marking 1,020 LF Concrete Median Barrier Milepost 28.47 is located in Cranberry Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania and is approximately 17.0 miles east of the Beaver Valley Interchange, Exit 13 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and approximately 11.9 miles west from the Butler Valley Interchange, Exit 39 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
