Description

The existing roadway is being shifted to accommodate for the design and location of the proposed roundabout. Though areas of existing asphalt are to remain, the design will require import materials to build the roadway as designed. The structural design of the existing roadway is approximately 3-inches of existing asphalt on a limerock base. The existing asphalt to remain within the layout of the new roadway is to be milled 1-inch, utilizing the existing asphalt base course (+/-2”). Existing asphalt not within the new roadway layout is to be milled full depth (+/- 3”) and will be regraded for sidewalks and green space. All new asphalt within the roadway shall be paved three-inches in depth (2” SP-12.5 and 1” SP-9.5) on a 10-inch limerock base, following typical subgrade design and standards. The entirety of the roadway’s friction course, within the design limits, is to be resurfaced upon completion.
