Chappell Procurement Manager County of Lexington Phone: 803-785-8319 Fax: 803-785-2240 Email: mchappell@lex-co.com Question Deadline Apr 03, 2023 at 12:00 PM SCOPE OF WORK Specifications - Pre-Engineered Post-Frame Building (Item 1) GENERAL A. Provide equipment, materials, and labor necessary for the complete construction of one (1) Pre-Engineered Post-Frame building to be constructed on site at the County of Lexington's Public Works property in Fairview, South Carolina. B. South Carolina Sales Tax: The successful contractor shall pay all applicable South Carolina sales tax. C. All materials shall be guaranteed as specified. All work to be completed in a skillful and competent manner according to standard practices. D. The successful contractor shall exercise every precaution to prevent injury to persons, damage to property while performing work and shall complete the construction work within OSHA regulations. E. The successful contractor is responsible for all necessary building permits. SITE WORK A. The County of Lexington is responsible for all necessary grading and site prep. FRAMING A. The design of the pre-engineered building shall be the same as Chapin with a 10-foot extension in both directions, shall be a wood frame structure with single ply clear span roof trusses. The building shall be designed in accordance with the latest edition of the International Building Code. Basic design loads will include live wind and dead loads. Framed openings shall be designed to structurally replace the wall covering and framing they displace. B. Exterior steel siding and roofing shall be 26 gauge structural quality full hardened galvanized steel, with a thirty (30) year limited warranty by the manufacturer on the steel. Steel siding and roofing will be cold rolled galvanized steel with a baked-on finish. All steel siding, top and bottom shall be painted unless otherwise specified. All fasteners are color coded to match panels. C. For the foundation, a 6" x 6" #2 yellow pine post, treated with CCA to a .6 lb. pcf. Retention (tested by the American Wood Preserves for in-ground contact) shall be used. Posts shall be set 4' in the ground on a 5" x 12" x 12"pre-cast concrete pad. D. Flashing, closures and/or trim shall be furnished at rake (end), eaves (sides), comers, framed openings, and wherever necessary to provide weather-tightness and a finished appearance. E. Insulation, where specified, shall consist of a minimum rating of R-7 with an Underwriters Laboratory approved flame spread rating of 25. Building shall be fully insulated. F. Framing shall be similar to the Chapin office and must pass all County of Lexington inspections.
