Rehabilitation of Six Mile Run Culvert on the Delaware & Raritan Canal, Phase I-Installation of a Temporary Cofferdam for Inspection Franklin Township, Somerset County

The work to be performed under this Contract consists of the following: 1. Installation of temporary cofferdam at each end of the south barrel in order to divert stream through the center and north barrels. Dewatering and removal of debris from the south barrel to allow for inspection of south barrel. Removal of the south barrel temporary cofferdam. 2. Installation of temporary cofferdam at each end of the center barrel in order to divert stream through the south and north barrels. Dewatering and removal of debris from the center barrel to allow for inspection of the center barrel. Removal of the center barrel temporary cofferdam 3. Installation of temporary cofferdam at each end of the north barrel in order to divert stream through the center and south barrels. Dewatering and removal of debris from the north barrel to allow for inspection of the north barrel. Removal of the north barrel temporary cofferdam. Debris on the upstream side and inside of the arch barrels will be removed. The contract shall include the installation and operation of the dewatering equipment, and remove all equipment and debris from the dewatered work area at the end of each work day. Provide accessibility ladders for entry and exit, plywood floor for walking on, and ladders at both ends for emergency exit during inspection. If the barrel is found to be considered a confined space, comply with OSHA confined space regulations
