Description | https://www.houstonchronicle.com/neighborhood/bayarea/article/League-City-neighborhood-park-slated-for-17345228.php - Major renovations of an eastside League City park are expected to get underway this fall. Named after the subdivision where it's located, two-acre Bayridge Park, 2913 Mariner, is scheduled for a $563,899 project that will include replacement of aging playground equipment, a shaded picnic table and a baseball dugout. A basketball court will be resurfaced and a walking path constructed around the park's perimeter. "The contracts have been approved, and the park equipment has been ordered," project manager Anthony Talluto said. "However, due to long lead times on pretty much all of the items -- playground elements, pergola (archway) and dugout material -- we have pushed the start date of construction to Sept. 1. "We anticipate trying to keep the playground open for use as long as possible so it can be used while other work is being completed." The renovations are expected to take about four months. "We hope to be completed before the end of the year," Talluto said. "The contractor will provide a more detailed schedule when we get closer to the start date, and at that time we will have a better idea of the delivery dates for the different equipment." One element of the park that will not be replaced during the renovations is a large ground-storage water tank that dominates the skyline. But, Talluto said, that tank is expected to be taken out of service and removed sometime in 2024 or 2025. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This project consists of renovations to Bayridge Park including playground replacement, installation of a new pavilion, new site furniture, concrete walk, and landscaping and irrigation. cutoff for questions being 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
