Design Engineering Services for Three Oaks Recreation Area Water Level Control

The scope of work for Three Oaks Recreation Area Water Level Control is attached in Attachment A, a memorandum from the City’s stormwater consultant Christopher B Burke Engineering. Additional items to note: 1. The 36-inch casing pipe is anticipated to be 30 feet deep when crossing underneath the intersection of Rakow Road and Virginia Road at a diagonal. 2. The outlet for the storm sewer will be the southern edge of proposed detention pond (to be constructed by others.) 3. The pipe is anticipated to be jack and bored. 4. Adjustable weir plates or some other control structure will be needed at the upstream side of the storm sewer casing pipe to reduce flow if necessary. 5. An emphasis will be needed with regards to dewatering at the northeast corner of Rakow Road and Virginia Road as well as soil erosion sediment control for the entire project. 6. Develop a suggested access path for the contractor along Rakow Road. McHenry County DOT is aware of this improvement. 7. Construction of a sanitary sewer extension from Virginia Road underneath Rakow Road in a casing pipe to the southwest corner of Rakow Road and Virginia Road. 8. Any proposed retaining walls or outlet structures that are not precast will require a structural design with plans prepared by a structural engineer.
