Description Wall Surface Testing: 1. Prior to surface preparation, at minimum 6 discreet samples are to be taken of the existing wall coating and tested to determine if for asbestos containing material. 2. IF POSITIVE asbestos (>1% ACM) then contactor is to proceed to remediate said material per the requirements of Section 61.145(c) of the Asbestos NESHAP regulations. If the material is <1% asbestos, it is not considered RACM per NESHAP. Wall Restoration: 1. Surface should be made good, i.e. filling, sanding, caulk where necessary. Surface should be smooth and as even as exposed block or concrete can make possible. All surfaces to be finish painted shall be cleaned free of all dirt, dust, grease, oil or other contaminants. a. Remove any flaked or peeling paint from the masonry. b. Clean the brick wall. c. Apply a masonry sealer to the wall. d. Apply primer to the masonry wall e. Paint the brick wall. 2. All jagged edges shall be removed and all seams and unprimed margins and abraded areas shall be treated in accordance with the degree of surface preparation specified in ASTM D5703 - 95(2013) Standard Practice for Preparatory Surface Cleaning for Clay Brick Masonry. 3. Exterior color shall be white. 4. See pictures below for existing surface/condition.
